Executive Summary

Executive Summary

Influence Ecology is the only business education in Transactional Competence™. In fact, we have undertaken the Herculean task of systematically crafting the Philosophy of Transactionalism. In 2015, we began building the philosophy as an article in Wikipedia, carefully articulating the meaning, importance, philosophical tenants, and more. The definition of Transactionalism is now being pulled from our Wikipedia article to populate dictionaries and encyclopedias throughout the world-wide-web.

Read about Transactionalism on Wikipedia

The article is primarily grounded in the dissertation written by Trevor J. Phillips in 1967, studying in the department of philosophy at Bowling Green University of Ohio. Co-founder, Kirkland Tibbels researched, found, and acquired the manuscript – and to honor Dr. Phillips and his legacy, Influence Ecology published the book: Transactionalism – An Historical and Interpretive Study by Trevor J Phillips, foreword by Kirkland Tibbels, edited by Kirkland Tibbels and John Patterson, November 2015. The book is now available on Amazon and iTunes.

Transactionalism is characterized in many forms and varied derivations by numerous authors in academic and professional discourses from anthropology to zoology. Influence Ecology offers a unique curriculum that provides the study and practice required to satisfy our aims in every condition of life. Our advanced programs continue to build on the results achieved in the Conditions of Life for Health, Work, Career, and Money by addressing the satisfaction of many higher Conditions of Life; Environment, Aesthetics, Politics, Legacy, and more.

For all the Fundamentals of Transaction Program Participants from 2012 through 2018, the average personal income (during that first six months of participation) was 47% more than anticipated.*

In addition to tracking income increases, participants target and track one health aim (weight loss, fitness activity, etc.) and one money aim (debt reduction, savings, etc.). The average results in 2012-18 were 87% of target for health goals and 99% of target for financial goals.

For our continuing Advanced Members, this health/money figure is currently[1] 112% and 102%. Over 1000 ambitious professionals have completed our programs and participation has expanded almost entirely by word-of-mouth to thirteen countries in six years; these include Australia, Canada, China, Jamaica, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Phillippines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain and the United States. Our public podcasts and webinars have been attended, listened to or downloaded by over 60,000 people in 90 countries.[2]

The 2019 tuition for our basic FOT program in $US is $5550; MAP is $12500, and MAP2 is $29,500. Self-guided study groups, local workshops, and two global conferences support continued participation through an annual Membership subscription of $1460.

Our Focus and Proprietary Content

Influence Ecology is a business curriculum that offers a Transactional Approach to satisfy one’s aims for money, work, and career. Delivered internationally, our study programs are a combination of e-learning and live webinars facilitated by accomplished professionals, Program Leaders, and peers.

Our curriculum begins with the Fundamentals of Transaction Program. For all participants from 2012 to 2019, the average increase in personal income during the first six months of participation was 47%. [FAQ]

Our curriculum methodology makes it difficult for students not to confront their naiveté, conceit, and indifference to the ‘transactional whole.’ They find that they have grown carelessly unaware of the interdependent relationship that they have with everything and everyone else. They discover that they begin to thrive when they honor their inter-reliant place in the world, and discontinue the illusion of being an overlord of it.

Our approach offers an integration of philosophical views historically seen at odds with each other. We recognize these distinct views [Subjectivism, Objectivism, for example] as part of a whole system.

Influence Ecology deploys a transactional behavior model; co-founder and chairman Kirkland Tibbels, having studied over 220 different approaches to personality and behavior, codified a model that demonstrates how humankind demonstrates attributes, not only expressed by differing philosophical views but as specific transactional behaviors that require one another.

Our annual global conferences are highly interactive educational environments of practice and practical application among an international assembly of ambitious peers. An enhancement to our study programs, live conferences provide attendees with the environment, guidance, and opportunity to accelerate their results.

Our intellectual property consists of thousands of pages of original, scholarly papers, a four-year e-learning program, and hundreds of hours of recorded webinar and video content. We own specific rights to and continue to assemble a comprehensive treatment on the Philosophy of Transactionalism as a historical, philosophical and marketplace endeavor. We have many hundreds of testimonies and statistical data on the results of short and long-term participation across differing industries, geographies, and cultures.

The Basics: We teach a specific Transaction Cycle, which demonstrates the moves and phases of any transaction and considers the Transactional Behavior appropriate for each move in the transaction. While learning to construct their Primary Transaction (an offer in the market), participants learn how to producing compliance for their offers and assessments.

Participants use our Thirteen Steps model for thinking accurately about how to construct and then make highly valued business offers that satisfy multiple Conditions of Life.  This fundamental model is then embodied as a platform for building any successful transaction, its recurrence, and expansion.

You could think of this as a practical and systematic roadmap to build a simple transaction (buying a burger) or a complex transaction (building a burger franchise). The surplus built through recurrence offers our participants opportunities to reach lofty financial goals while living a satisfying life in multiple conditions.

The Transaction Cycle offers a transitional relationship from Subjectivism through Constructivism, Objectivism, and Skepticism. These philosophies arise naturally as each field within a transaction is respected for it’s required and appropriate move.

Participants come face to face with a biological tendency towards the transactional behavior and philosophical position they have always relied on to gain compliance and the opportunity to understand and exploit that natural behavior in themselves and others.

The typical new participant experiences a journey which is as follows:

  • They begin with enthusiasm as they undertake to learn new ways to think about living a satisfying life.
  • They begin to confront their naivety, conceit, and entitlement to living as they have hoped for; they discover they haven’t been thinking accurately about satisfying some of their most important conditions of life.
  • They begin to face the fact that they are ‘screwed’; they have no pathway to produce what they need to live as they desire and they are very behind.
  • They begin to see that their personality, transactional behavior, naivety, conceit, and entitlement has misguided them. They begin to see that the compliance practitioners of the Current have been indifferent to their concerns and have exploited them for their benefit.
  • They begin to see that they can accept or decline the people, groups, offers, assessments, and indifference in the marketplace – and they begin practicing this – everywhere.
  • They begin to think accurately about work.
  • They begin to think accurately about money.
  • They begin to think accurately about career.
  • Using all they have learned, they begin the construction of transactions (offers) to satisfy multiple Conditions of Life.
  • In doing so, they report making more money, working less, building powerful identities and becoming healthier.

Financials

By 2013, the end of our fourth fiscal year, our five staff had produced $1M in sales. We have the existing systems, processes, and personnel to expand to $6M (by 2020) with little impact to our existing infrastructure and overhead; as the company grows, so does profit.

Our primary program, the Fundamentals of Transaction Program is led six (6) times a year on GoToWebinar (online meetings) to groups that range in size from 25 to 60 participants.

In 2013, the total number of FOT participants starting programs was 130 and the average revenue per participant in a year was $7692 including advanced programs and conferences.

The forecast below shows a growth plan that produces $6 Million in revenue by 2020 with 427 FOT Participants in that year. The ratio of FOT participants that then register into other programs is known, and subsequent revenues are projected.
